Child’s Rights Act – When the Devil Advocates for Your Child! From time immemorial, Lucifer or satan is most effective in his deception strategy when he appears to humans as an “angel of light.” That was how he was able to deceive Eve and Adam by pretending that he cared for their welfare more than God, their creator did. He deployed the same strategy against Jesus Christ, the Son of God when He was hungry after fasting for 40 days.
He said to Him in effect, “Now that you are hungry, why don’t you command these stones to become bread?” Of course, the Lord saw through his subterfuge and replied him by quoting Deuteronomy 8:3, “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
Satan operating as an angel of light successfully hijacked organs of the United Nations to counter Biblical instructions on raising godly children, through the Child’s Right Act. As of July 12, 2022, 196 countries have signed and ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). The only exception is the United States, which has signed the Convention but has not yet ratified it.
The Act acknowledges that all children are entitled to fundamental rights, including right to life, survival and development; right to education that facilitates them reaching their full potential; and right to protection from abuse, violence and neglect. The Act explicitly prohibits child labour, trafficking, and other forms of exploitation, as well as physical or psychological abuse.
On the surface, the Child’s Rights Act is a fantastic document with potentials to produce positive outcomes. However, the fact that the United Nations ignores abortion on demand, which targets the most vulnerable group in the world, makes its interest in the fundamental rights of children suspect. The organisation has also refused to condemn mutilation of the sexual organs of minors under the transgender ideology, while it pays lip service to the pervasive global sex trafficking involving children.
The originator of the Act, was Eglantyne Jebb, a known lesbian. She was in an open relationship with another lesbian, Margaret Keynes, sister of Maynard Keynes, an English economist and philosopher. A document Jebb drafted in 1923 known as Declaration of the Rights of Children was adopted in 1924 by the League of Nations, predecessor to the United Nations. This explains why she did not deem it fit to include satanic rituals like abortion, sex trafficking of children and mutilation of the sexual organs of minors in the original document adopted by the world body.
So, how is the Child Rights Act anti-Scripture? As I earlier commented, some aspects of the legislation are sound, especially the part that condemns exploitation of children. However, most countries in the West execute the part that deals with protection from physical and psychological abuse with vigour. Thus, parents could be arrested and prosecuted if they discipline their children in accordance with Biblical injunctions in Proverbs 13:24, “He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.”
The zeal with which the legislation against corporal punishment is executed in the West has weakened discipline at home, with many children becoming increasingly aggressive and insulting towards their parents and others. In fact, even the use of some words considered “psychological abuse” by the children themselves can expose their parents to arrest and prosecution.
The absurdity of the Child’s Rights Act is more pervasive in America. Though the country is yet to ratify the instrument, some Democratic Party run States like Colorado and California have enacted supplementary legislations that give them powers to seize children from their parents to protect their rights to change their genders. How is this excusable under any condition?
Can the state claim ownership of a child whose parents are alive? While Eglantyne Jebb may have started the Child’s Rights campaign from a pragmatic perspective, the devil could have originated the idea in his quest destroy the foundation of the family unit. Children are not only the most valuable resource of the human family (Herbert Hoover), but also the key to its future.
God clearly intended that parents should raise their children to maturity. His way of parenting is about following His guidance and not relying on secular methods or personal preferences. Parents are called to represent God in the home, reflecting His character and relying on His grace and strength. While secular authorities prohibit corporal punishment, Proverbs 13:24 declares that a father “who spares the rod hates his son.” Proverbs 23:13-14 crown it all: “Do not withhold discipline from a child; although you strike him with a rod, he will not die. Strike him with a rod, and you will deliver his soul from Sheol.”
Parents do not have many options. It is either they allow the devil to advocate for their children, in which case they will end up in the lake of fire with him, or they choose to raise them in the fear and admonition of the Lord and save them from destruction (Ephesians 6:4). As a parting word, I urge all parents to take Proverbs 19:18 to heart: “Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.”
