Christianity in Czech Republic: The Czech Republic, also known as Czechia, is located in Central Europe. It is bordered by Austria to the South; Germany to the West, Poland to the Northeast, and Slovakia to the Southeast. The capital and largest city is Prague, while the official language is Czech. The country has a human population of 10,900,555, with multiple ethic groups.

These include Czechs, 89%, Moravians, 3.3%, Slovaks, 0.9%, Ukrainians, 0.7%, others, 6.1%. Atheism is the dominant ideology embraced by 56.9% of the population. The religious configuration has Christianity at 11.7%, comprising Roman Catholicism, 9.3%, other Christian groups, 1.2%, and undecided, 20.9%.

Brief History

The Czech Republic was formed on January 1, 1993, when the Czechoslovak Federation dissolved. The country’s history includes periods of rule by the Hapsburg Empire, the Austrian Monarchy, and the Kingdom of Bohemia. Czechia was the western part of the Czechoslovakia Federation. The incumbent President is Petr Pavel, while the Prime Minister is Petr Fiala.

Status of Christianity in Czechia

 Only a tiny fraction of Czechs, approximately 0.76% of the population identify as Evangelicals, compared to 56.9% who deny the existence of God, and about 20% who are undecided about what faith to embrace. This is heart breaking, considering the history of Christianity in the country. This country gave Christendom spiritual giants like Jerome of Prague, a reformer burnt at the stake by Roman Catholic Church in 1416 for his faith in Christ Jesus. 1. Pray for God to judge and punish all demonic principalities holding the people of Czech Republic in captivity.

5. Ask the Father to use the President, Petr Pavel as a point of contact to reach all unsaved souls in the country.
6. Pray that God would destroy faulty spiritual foundations laid in some believers in Czech Republic through demonic doctrines and errors, and lay new ones for them in Christ.
7. Pray that the Father would sanctify all believers with His word and purge them of everything they have opened their spirits to, through their interactions with adherents of false religions.
8. Ask the Father to send labourers to His harvest in the country.
