- Is Salvation Anchored on God ...

Is Salvation Anchored on God’s Word or Church Traditions? Recently, I had an intense argument with a friend, a member of the Roman Catholic Church over the inerrancy of Scripture as the infallible and immutable word of God. This person, like all Catholics, believes that “Church traditions” have the same weight with Scripture.
This would not have been controversial if the Catholics actually believed and acted on the word of God the same way they do with these man-made traditions. Sadly, they choose them over God’s word. Thus, they have created another religion with its own creed and rituals. They are like the Pharisees that the Lord Jesus accused of using their traditions to invalidate or nullify the word of God (Mark 7:13).
What are the creeds and rituals introduced by the Catholic Church that contradict God’s word? We will start with how the church presents Jesus’ atoning sacrifice. Hebrews 10:12-14 state, “But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right of God, waiting from that time until His enemies should be made a footstool for His feet. FOR BY A SINGLE OFFERING HE HAS PERFECTED FOR ALL TIME ALL THOSE WHO ARE BEING SANCTIFIED.”
The Roman Catholic Church does not accept this Scripture, or the fact that the blood of Jesus atoned completely for the sin of humanity as stated in John 1:29, “This is the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the word.” So, what has the Church done to remedy God’s “mistake?” It has introduced a “Purgatory” where dead humans go to be purified before they are fit to enter heaven! Unfortunately, billions of people on earth believe this rubbish.

Another area where the Catholic Church rejects God’s word in favour of its traditions is in relation to the role of Jesus in the salvation process. The Church has come out openly to call Jesus a liar be declaring that the statement He made in John 14:6 that He is the only way to the Father is not true. The Catholic Church holds that all religions lead to God!
The Church has also introduced traditions to make Mary, the mother of Jesus a divine and an immortal deity. It claims that Mary was born without sin, contrary to Romans 3:23 that declares that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” It equally claims that Mary died a virgin, which seeks to invalidate Scriptures that affirm that she had other children. This status of Mary as the mother of many children outside Jesus is clearly stated in Matthew 12:46, Matthew 13:55-56, Luke 2:7, Luke 8:19, Mark 3:31, John 7:1-10, Acts 1:14 and Galatians 1:19.
When your opinion conflicts with the word of God, the sensible thing to do is to repent and retrace your steps. The Catholic Church is unwilling to do that at all. It also promotes the doctrine that dead humans whom it calls “Saints,” can act as mediators between us and God. This is despite the declaration in 1 Timothy 2:5 that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between us and the Father.
Perhaps, the most ridiculous of the Catholics’ traditions is their doctrine of “Sainthood.” In the New Testament of the Holy Bible, living believers were called “Saints,” as recorded in the following Scriptures – Acts 9:13, 32, Acts 26:10, Philippians 4:21, Romans 16:2, Ephesians 16:2, Ephesians 4:12, 1 Corinthians 1:2, among others.
While these do not represent all the false doctrines of the Catholic Church, I believe that they are enough to open the eyes of gullible people that have embraced this satanic religion. All who desire to know the wickedness of this false church should read John Foxe’s Book of Martyrs. In previous centuries, this Babylonish church killed many disciples of Jesus Christ who refused to accept its demonic doctrines.
Therefore, it is no surprise that Jesus Christ gave the identity of the harlot church in Revelation 17:6, “And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of martyrs of Jesus.” If you are a member of this satanic assembly, I leave you with the warning in Revelation 18:4, “And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, My people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” Do you want to end up in the lake of fire with satan by choosing church traditions over God’s word? The choice is yours.
