The dove is the symbol of the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 11 verse two highlights the characteristics of God’s Spirit as follows: “The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. However, His basic nature is HOLINESS. That is why is called the HOLY SPIRIT. Before the Lord Jesus Christ completed His first earthly ministry, He promised to send the Holy Spirit to come and tabernacle or live in us (Luke 24:49).
The Holy Spirit has many roles to play in our lives. Apart from leading us into all truth (John 16:13), He is our strengthener, comforter, counsellor and purifier. He is the one who helps us to fulfil the righteous requirements of the law (Romans 8:3-4); thus making us holy. We cannot attain holiness in our own strength, nor become godly by simply obeying a set of rules. Godliness, which means conformity with the character of God in thoughts, feelings, desires and actions, is impossible without the help of the Holy Spirit. Enjoy the compilation!
