God’s Word Works!

         Recently, a Christian sister and I discussed the trend of blasphemies in Christendom involving some so-called “men of God”. I observed that none of us would have received God’s mercy or enjoyed His salvation without the instrumentality of the Bible. In addition, none of us would have initiated a relationship with Him outside of His written word captured in that holy volume. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that satan and his agents have focused their attacks on this book.

 In my early years, I never saw anyone openly criticise the Bible. Adding or subtracting from the holy book was considered a taboo. Now, some ministers are throwing caution to the wind and coming out with ‘new, improved versions’ of the Bible; after they allegedly hosted the Lord Jesus Christ, the Father, the Holy Spirit or some angels, including Michael and Gabriel. How pathetic! They have so deluded themselves into believing that their high titles give them the privilege to edit God’s words. The funniest thing is that their gullible followers go to the social media to defend their follies. Commenting on a recent claim by a “man of God” that Adam was not the first human created by God according to the Bible, one of his followers asserted that the blasphemous “man of God” was merely teaching theology! Of course, spiritual pedestrians like us have no reason to question the sanity of a “man of God” who is showing off his skill in theology by calling God a liar.

In recent times, I have read some articles where so-called ministers dismissed some Scriptures in the Bible, including Genesis chapter 6. One of them claimed that it was satan who sent fire after Elijah prayed to God during his encounter with the priests of Baal. The same man said that Abraham is not qualified to be called the father of faith because he knew that Isaac would not be killed! This is a clear evidence that satan has taken his seat in some so-called churches to lead the gullible astray.

 The net result of the growing propagation of such doctrines of demons by this class of preachers is that God’s name is being blasphemed among unbelievers. Most importantly, this patent falsehood in the name of God has affected the faith of many baby Christians who no longer accept the Bible as His immutable word of God. Is it any wonder then that many believers are living like heathen? Is it any wonder that discipline is lacking in many churches? Does the word of God still work? What is making some Christians so gullible that they choose to side with mere men against the counsel of the LORD God of Hosts? What kind of demons are operating in churches where these blasphemies are being propagated? Is there anything we can do to help those hypnotised by these agents of satan?

         In Psalm 138:2, King David under the auction of the Holy Spirit said that God exalts His word above His great name. That is how precious the word is to the Father. God Himself had this to say about His word, “Is not My word like as a fire? Saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?” Hebrews 4:12 declares, “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart”. When the Lord Jesus had an encounter with two disciples on the way to Emmaus after His resurrection, they recognised Him after He broke bread with them. After He disappeared, they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the Scriptures?” (Luke 24:32).

No man can receive the word of God and remain the same. When Jeremiah complained about his harassment by fellow Jews and decided he was not going to prophesy to them anymore, he found out that it was impossible for him to keep the word of God within his heart, as it was like fire burning inside of him. He said in verse 9 of chapter 20, “Then I said, I will not make mention of Him, nor speak any more in His name. But His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.”

 Are you one of those doubting the efficacy of the word of God? Have people prophesised to you in the name of God and nothing positive has happened in your life? It may well be that you are sitting under a charlatan that has openly called God a liar by adding or subtracting from the Bible. If your pastor or any minister has introduced his own ideas into the Bible, RUN! Your life is in danger. Remember that the merciful God you know is also a consuming fire. Run from anyone who is foolish enough to call the Holy One of Israel a liar. Run! You do not owe your pastor any apology for leaving his congregation when he is not under the authority of God. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11:1, “Be ye followers of me, even as I am of Christ.” There is no indication anywhere in the Bible where Jesus Christ contradicted Old Testament Scriptures. Neither did Paul or any apostle. Is your pastor more anointed than the Son of God that he should receive revelations from God that contradict His word in the Bible?

 The word of God can only work for you if you have a healthy respect for it. The word of God cannot be separated from God Himself. Anyone who disrespects God’s word insults His person. Anyone who adds or subtracts from the Bible calls God a liar and a fool. If you continue to sit under such a person, be ready to receive the same judgement reserved for enemies of God – eternity in the lake of fire.
