Thanksgiving is the focus of our potpourri segment this month. It sets the tone for a refreshing time in God’s presence. Psalm 100:4 exhorts us to “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.” The World English Bible version renders Psalm 50:23 thus, “Whoso offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies Me, and prepares his way so that I can show God’s salvation to him.”
I had a personal experience that brought the importance of thanksgiving forcefully to my consciousness. I was thinking about the inclement weather where I live, and was at the verge of complaining about it when I received the understanding that complaining produce a bitter spirit in us, but thanksgiving brings us joy.
The compilation is intended to expand the scope of your knowledge on what thanksgiving entails and to encourage you to be thankful to God always, regardless of your situation or circumstance. Thanksgiving is an outflow of gratitude; an appreciation of the goodness that you do not deserve. God is the ultimate GOOD in the universe, and He specialises in blessing humans, which He created in His image.
