Potpourri – Joy: While researching for this compilation, I came across many quotes from both Christian believers and people of other faiths that do not align with the Scriptural definition of the word ‘joy.’ Many folks use it interchangeably with happiness. Joy is not happiness because it is not of earthly origin. We are happy because of favourable earthly circumstances.
Joy is a fruit of the Spirit, an evidence of His presence (Galatians 5:22-23). Joy flows from God’s heart and He imparts it to us by His Spirit. Not even angels or demons can steal joy from our hearts. Of course, we can refuse to receive it since Almighty God does not infringe on our free will. We pray that the compilation will enhance our understanding of the joy of the LORD and encourage us to ask Him to fill our hearts with it.
