Progressivism: Christianity of the New World Order  

While writing this piece, it dawned on me that we are indeed the generation that would witness the return of Christ for His church. It’s sobering and frightening. The fright does not come from my anxiety over the state of my soul. I have surrendered my life to God and I do not dread meeting Him because Yeshua has secured a free passage into His presence for me through His atoning sacrifice. I am afraid that all of us believers might be held accountable for not doing enough to expose the works of satan in these end hours in order to save billions of souls that have been captured by him and his demons. Sadly, the enemy has penetrated the organised church and is using people who call themselves into ministry as his mouthpiece. Satan is more dangerous when he appears as an angel of light. That is when he twists the word of God to deceive the gullible and steal their souls.

       It is a big shock to me seeing how many so-called ‘great men of God’ have fallen into apostasy. They are like modern day prostitutes who have lost any sense of shame. How on earth can a person who claims to represent God assert that He (God) is too loving to judge anyone? So, what should we make of the entire Bible? Are we the generation that would throw it into the dustbin? How can a person be so arrogant to impute that he or she knows God more than all the prophets the Holy Spirit used to convey God’s mind to us in the Bible? These charlatans call themselves progressives. What does the word mean anyway? According to Collins online English Dictionary, “someone who is progressive has modern ideas about how things should be done, rather than traditional ones”.

          W. Tozer captured their bent in his book, Rut, Rot or Revival. According to him, the progressives insist that the Bible must be interpreted in the light of changes in the society, since according to them, the apostles and prophets were mistaken in the assessment of what God requires from humanity. These charlatans also insist that the prophets and apostles of both the Old and New Testaments had ideas that were good and advanced for their day, but not suitable for ours. Furthermore, they opined that humans now know more about themselves, their motivation and the nature of things than they did when people thought that the earth was flat. While they acknowledge that the Bible contains some beautiful poetry and some marvellously inspiring thoughts about human nature and the world, it should be reassessed in the light of current scientific advancements.

This explains why many churches in the West, particularly America are promoting the ‘God is love gospel’. They have created their own God who is so love sick that He is ready to tolerate all evil and wickedness of man, including sexual perversions like sodomy which He earlier adjudged so reprehensible that it should not even be mentioned among sane humans. That is what an abomination is. Today, many Western churches have ‘sanctified’ sodomy and even ordained some of them as priests and pastors. The progressives have gone as far as attacking churches that have refused to join in their parade for satan. In New York, United States of America, the pastor of a progressive church took the lead by hosting a gay pride in his worship centre.

My question is, “When did God change so radically that He no longer upholds His word more than His great name?” (Psalm 138). The quote by Cherie Roe Dirksen above tells us that He is no longer the God of the Bible. She wants us to be at peace with sin and satan because the ‘god’ she has created in her warped mind is ‘Love’. And because love is his nature, he “cannot judge or smite us”. No wonder Paul warned us to beware of the operations of satan when he comes as an angel of light! That was the same strategy he used against Eve. He said to her in effect, “I am not saying that God didn’t speak to you. Are you sure you understood what He said? He couldn’t have asked you not to eat the forbidden fruit. In any case, God is trying to prevent you from attaining your full potentials”.

How do we want the world to take us seriously when we ourselves do not even accept that the word of God is sacrosanct? The root cause of the rot in Christendom is the proliferation of supposed Bible Schools and Seminaries. Most of them have become the citadel of darkness and the mouthpiece of satan. On what authority can a mere man take upon himself the duty of critiquing the Bible? If it is the word of God, who are we to add or subtract from its substance? But that is exactly what these evil institutions are doing.

They now ordain pastors and other ministers who do not believe in the virgin birth of Christ and His resurrection. Some of them reject certain books of the Bible like Genesis in their entirety, while others like Catholic priests accept some chapters as inspired works. If the book of Genesis is fiction, how can we preach salvation without linking it to the original sin in the Garden of Eden recorded in chapter 3?

           Sometimes, I feel like pinching myself to be sure I am still in the world I knew. How did we arrive at the place where we accept the doctrines of devils and reject the word of God? It is obvious to anyone with a spiritual thermometer installed by the Holy Spirit that we are not in the last days- we are actually in the last hours! Will things get worse? Isaiah 60:2 tells us that “darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people”. Thankfully, the prophet did not end his warning with doom and gloom. The second part of that verse says, “But the Lord shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee”.

Should we be concerned about the state of affairs in the church? Of course we should but we must also remember that there are two kingdoms operating side by side on this earth- the Kingdom of God and that of darkness. Yeshua said in Mathew 16:18, “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it”. If we believe the Lord, His church is alive and well on earth. Given this fact, we know that the Holy Spirit told us that Babylon the great whore would be judged along with her children. We understand by the Spirit that Babylon is the false church, the bride of the anti-Christ Man. It is in Babylon that devils have found the vent to promote their doctrines. It is Babylon that has received the spirit of the anti-Christ and is openly deriding God’s word and His holiness.

Yeshua has never left us in the dark regarding what we should expect as God winds down His work on the old earth. 1 Timothy 4:1-4 state, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer”.

I am particularly interested in the aspect of the cited Scripture which alluded to people giving heed to seducing spirits. What does seduction entail? You can only be seduced when your heart has been captured by the devil through your own lusts. These are the people Paul spoke about in 2 Timothy 4:1-4, “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His Kingdom; Preach the word, be instant in season and out of season ; reprove, rebuke, exhort with long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teacher, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned to fables”?

 What makes some people prone to seduction? How does seduction operate? A definition of the word would give us a good grasp of the reason satan has chosen it as it major strategy against Babylon, the false church. Collins online Dictionary defines seduction as enticement or temptation. James 1:14 says that “each one is tempted when by his own evil desires he is lured away and enticed”. In essence, humans can only be enticed by what is attractive to them. They must have a desire for something before it becomes a bait for satan to pull them into his kingdom or prevent them from embracing God’s mercy in Yeshua.

 That was exactly how he got Eve to disobey God. She desired the forbidden fruit! What is satan’s most important bait in our generation? Self-actualisation. Self-esteem and other self-centred philosophies. He tells sin-filled man, “You can be like God. He does everything He likes. Why can’t you”. Humans soak in the lies and say, “Yeah, we don’t need God anymore. We have science. We can travel to space. We can create human parts from synthetic materials. We can operate on a blind man and give him sight. We can do all these and more. What do we need God for” According to Psalm 2:1-3, their ego is so bloated that they “imagine a vain thing by taking counsel together against the LORD and against His anointed saying, “Let us break their bands asunder, and cast their cords from us”. In summary, “We can do without God”.

         In verses 4 to 6, God gave them a reply. First He laughs at their idiotic posturing. He looks at them with derision and declared, “Yet have I set My King upon My holy hill of Zion”. Then He turns to the Messiah and says, “Thou art My Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of Me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, And the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s wheel”. If some of us are still not convinced about God’s determination to unleash the severest punishment on the rebellious at the end of time, hear what He said in Isaiah 45:22-23, “Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. By Myself have I sworn; from My mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: ‘To Me every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall swear allegiance”.

It is folly to know that the end of a matter would be disastrous and still pursue it with all your strength. That is analogous to someone committing suicide. Jeremiah 2:13 speaks of a people who forsook the spring of living water to embrace a broken cistern that holds no water. That is what the progressives have done. They have chosen to be the bride of the anti-Christ Man rather than keep themselves pure for Yeshua. They have chosen Babylon the great harlot, instead of the church of the living God. God says in 2 Corinthians 6:17, “Therefore come out from among them and be separate. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive”. Remember that God created you with a free will for a purpose. It is in your power to “abstain from  all appearance of evil” (1 Thessalonians 5:22). God loves you with passion but even He will not “abstain from all appearance of evil for you”. You are the one to decide where to spend eternity. Make a wise choice today.
