Chapter 28 – Just Another Homo Sapiens

Seventy thousand years ago, Homo sapiens was
still an insignificant animal minding its own business
in a corner of Africa. In the following millennia it
transformed itself into the master of the entire
planet and the terror of the ecosystem.
Today it stands on the verge of becoming
a god, poised to acquire not only eternal
youth, but also the divine abilities of
creation and destruction.

We returned to New York in early February to await information on the whereabouts of the last fruit on the evolution tree, Guntas the chimp turned human. Lionel had to sift through loads of reports from people who claimed to be familiar with the subject. Of course, there was no way Francisca and I were going to travel out of new York until we got authentic information on the matter. Eventually, a source in Senegal informed Lionel that the chimp-turned man was ‘loaned’ to the United States government by French authorities in 1923. It is worth noting that France ruled that country until its independence in 1960.

         The latest information did not help matters as we still didn’t know where the man was kept within the states. We were almost giving up hope of completing the assignment when Lionel called to inform us that Guntas had been located in San Diego, California. He asked us to meet him at his home in New Jersey to plan for the trip to the military facility hosting our next interviewee. Francisca and I were overjoyed because the suspense was rehabilitating.

       Planning for the trip to San Diego was devoid of the tension associated with our visits to strange lands. Our joy was however dampened by an incident at the entrance to the military facility hosting our target. As we approached the gate, a Marine Sergeant wearing a name tag bearing Michael Hayworth insisted that only one of us would be allowed in for the interview. He didn’t budge even when we showed him our international passports indicating countries we visited in the course of the assignment.

         I was determined to have Francisca with me so I told him I wouldn’t conduct the interview without her. Austin people are not called obstinate for nothing! Eventually, he called someone on phone and grudgingly allowed us access after about 50 minute’s standoff. The Sergeant handed us over to another Marine with instruction to take us directly to the ‘Guest Chamber’.

       We eventually arrived at a wing of the complex dotted with bungalows with barbed wire fence encircling each. At the entrance to one of the bungalows, our escort handed us over to another soldier and retreated. We were documented at this point and issued with the kind of protective gear usually worn at nuclear facility. Thereafter, we were ushered into a sitting room littered with magazines and books. A man seated in a lounge chair stood up as we filed into the room. I wasn’t sure who he was, so I refrained from introducing myself. I was going to play by the rules of the military and wouldn’t do anything that would truncate the interview.

         The lone occupant of the room eventually stretched out his hand in our direction and said, “I’m Greg Mason. You must be the journalists from Glitz. Have your seats.” Before I could respond, the soldier said, “Ma’am. Take as much time as you want. I’ll be at the patio. Call me if you need anything”.

        As soon as the Marine guy left, our host picked up a copy of Glitz Magazine from the floor and said, “I’ve been following the evolution series with keen interest. I knew the trail would lead to me, so I’ve been expecting you. You haven’t done badly at all. I’m not sure a male team would’ve had the tenacity to follow the trail across many continents as you gals have done. Now, where do we start?”

Belinda: If we say from the beginning, it might take us back to pre and post Big Bang! So, tell us your own side of story.

Mason: Let’s start with the name. I was called Ndiongue Thiandoum while in Senegal. I guess this must’ve been a mouthful for your American brothers because they documented me as Greg. I don’t mind the name change though. One name is as good as the other especially when you don’t have too many occasions to introduce yourself.

Belinda: Are you under house arrest?

Mason: I have the freedom to move round the grounds of the bungalow.

Belinda: Hmm. What a neat response! You’d made a very good diplomat.

Mason: That’s a compliment isn’t?

Belinda: We’ll try not to put you in trouble. So let’s talk evolution. What really happened between you and your former comrades in Senegal?

Mason: Oh that! I’m sure Bonono regaled you with tales of my misdemeanors. There was no way I could live as a chimp in a man’s body. Obviously they weren’t happy about my evolution into a higher form of life? Jealousy was the motivation for their hatred towards me.

Belinda: Bonono specifically accused you of engaging in sexual orgies with female of other animal species. Was that also contrived?

Mason: It was their word against mine. How could I have defended myself when I wasn’t given any opportunity to do so?

Belinda: Frankly, we’re not here to interrogate your sexual preferences. I brought up the issue because your former comrades are very bitter about it. Bonono in particular emphasized it during his chat with us. Our primary interest as you must’ve noticed in the published series is the ‘how’ of evolution. If you claimed that you mutated from a chimp to a man, we want to know how you achieved such a feat. Could you share this aspect of your experience with us?

Mason: I’m not sure anyone has the facts of the ‘how’ that can satisfy your curiosity. Suffice it to say that man is composed of matter traced to the Big Bang you alluded to earlier.

Belinda: Let me walk you through the process as explained by other interviewees maybe that’ll help us to synchronize your own evolutionary paths. I’m sure you remember when you were a chimp. You lived that life for several years and then something revolutionary happened that turned your world upside down in a positive way. Can’t you at least tell us how this process occurred?

Mason: I didn’t realize that I was being transformed into a man.

Belinda: Evolutionists insist that the evolutionary process started with the Big Bang which was obviously instantaneous. Now, all my interviewees claimed that their mutation to other life forms was a gradual process. Why are you guys contradicting yourselves?

Mason: All I can say is that all facts in nature point to the validity of our claims that the universe gave birth to itself.

Belinda: Nothing gave birth to something. Even an infant will not accept this Mr. Mason. Why is it so difficult for you guys to defend your position with facts? Is it that you don’t have any proof for evolution?

Mason: How can you say that? Even now humans are evolving very fast into higher life forms.

Belinda: Like what?

Mason: In the 19^th Century, there were only two genders. Right now, there are 9 namely, males, females transgender, two-spirit, cis-gender, non-binary, gender-queer, gender- fluid and gender-neutral.

Belinda: Apart from the first two, which of them occurred naturally?

Mason: I think that man has done well for himself. The fact that he can birth new genders is an achievement.

Belinda: I can’t believe that these are the only things you can say in defense of evolution. How do you want my readers to feel? Everyone has been looking forward to this interview. Can’t you give us credible information to explain the process you allegedly experienced personally?

Mason: The fossil record and abundant other evidence testify that organisms have evolved through time.

Belinda: Well, other scientists insist that fossils found of plants or animals look just like their same species today. If this is the only basis for pushing the evolution agenda, I think my magazine will have a problem selling it to the reading public.

Mason: How can you explain the existence of different species of plants and animals that were not native to certain areas?

Belinda: I don’t believe the entire idea behind this interview is for me to prove or disprove evolution. The onus is on you evolutionists to give us facts on how the process works. You should also tell us why no one has observed it for the many thousand years man has been on earth. Mr. Mason? Have you observed evolution in action?

Mason: Not really.

Belinda: So, how do you want my readers to accept your theory when no one has ever observed the evolutionary process in action?

Mason: The truth is that humans and other animals are products of chemical reaction from the Big Bang. Every other assumption is fairy tale.

Belinda: I’m willing to go along with you and I speak for my readers as well; if you can produce convincing facts that a causeless chemical reaction separated animals and plants into species: that the same chemical reaction decided their genders. Have you taken time to look at the human body Mr. Mason?

Mason: In what sense?

Belinda: We are trying to unearth facts that would help my readers make up their mind on the two contentious theories- creationism and evolution. A world renowned surgeon Dr. Mark Reisman described the human body as the most advanced structure in the universe and a marvel of biochemical engineering. Other scientists have discovered that the human body has no organ that is meaningless; everything serves an important purpose. Tell me Mr. Mason how the Big Bang inspired chemical reaction had the intelligence to produce the work of art that’s the human body?

Mason: It’s all the work of the controlling forces in the universe personified by Mother Nature.

Belinda: So, Mother Nature is a person?

Mason: That’s not what I meant. Mother Nature is the force that controls weather and all living things.

Belinda: So, Mother Nature woke you up this morning and decided what you should have for breakfast?

Mason: Don’t trivialize issues.

Belinda: Far from it. We are trying to make sense out of your postulations. According to you, Mother Nature controls everyone. Does she also control sexual preferences of humans and animals?

Mason: Of course. That’s why it’s wrong for creationists to put people in strait jackets of males and females, thereby inhibiting their natural inclinations.

Belinda: (Laughter). I see. No wonder the evolutionists now recognize nine or ten genders!

Mason: There could be more in future as the evolutionary movement intensifies.

Belinda: So, evolution could be energized?

Mason: Certainly. If the present equilibrium is disturbed by a cataclysmic event like nuclear war, new species of animals and plants could emerge.

Belinda: Then we ought to have seen signs of this after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster on April 26, 1986. Apart from premature deaths caused by the reaction and cases of cancers among the survivors, there’s no record of any evolutionary process at work among the local population.

Mason: That’s not to say that it can’t happen. Evolution takes time.

Belinda: So, why do evolutionists support the instant solutions like sex-change?

Mason: Because we are against the pressure creationists put on people to accept their silo mentality on sexual orientation.

Belinda: If you believe that the creationists view that humans are classed into male and female is wrong, why do you encourage transgender and the like to adopt other people’s children? Why should they benefit from a supposedly faulty arrangement?

Mason: Would you rather that the unwanted children remain in orphanages than in warm and welcoming homes provided by the gay and transgender communities?

Belinda: It’s a question of morality Mr. Mason. If you believe that Mother Nature whom you claim controls everyone, mistakenly willed a man into existence in a woman’s body, should the same Mother Nature not be entreated to correct this error?

Mason: I really don’t have much to say on this issue anymore. Good day Ma’am.

Belinda: Thanks for your time Mr. Mason.

Chapter 29 – Are We There Yet?

The human condition is plagued with a labyrinth
of shortcomings, frailties and limitations that hinder
Man from reaching his fullest potential.
Therefore, it only makes sense that we find ourselves
at the next phase in human evolution where restricted
man merges with the infinite possibilities of
hyper-evolving technologies. This techno-human
transmutation will prove to be the quantum
leap in human progression. The harmonization
of technologically extending oneself,
consciousness, artificial intelligence and machine
learning will reverse the failures of genetic
predisposition and limitation.

I wasn’t surprised about the way Mason ended the interview so abruptly. I’d encountered several evolutionists in the course of my career that had no stomach for sound reasoning. There were others like Lionel that craved intelligent discussions on this contentious issue. Of course, there are also creationists with intolerant disposition. Much as I’m one hundred percent sure that the universe couldn’t have birthed itself, I want to persuade rather than compel anyone to accept my viewpoint.

       Francisca and I returned finally to New York in mid February; having spent almost a year criss-crossing several continents in search of facts to strengthen the position of Lionel and his team that the universe has no progenitor. This chapter is more of a post-mortem because I submitted the final scripts of the interviews to him two days ago. As is generally the case with all post-mortems, the end-game is remediation. Did the assignment add to the body of knowledge? Are people better informed about evolution? Could they make informed choices based on information provided by the interviewees? I refrain from assessing myself on any parameter of success, despite the syndication of the series by various media outlets. I didn’t go out of my way to seek fame. One thing is certain; information empowers.

         Now back to evolution. My interaction with the different entities in this project has provoked more questions than answers. I won’t rehearse those I posed to the interviewees themselves. These questions are for the Lionels and Masons of this world. I’m not scoffing at your ideas. I’m not trying to speak for the creationists. This project was not intended to sell their viewpoints but to give the evolutionists an opportunity to convince skeptics like me that an air conditioner, car, laptop, refrigerator and the likes can will themselves into existence!

          I once read a story about a Russian communist and Scientist who visited a Christian colleague (before religion became a taboo in the defunct USSR), and was intrigued by the beauty of a miniature ship on his friend’s table in the office. The communist picked up the toy and sought to know the manufacturer. With a straight face, the Christian Scientist said, “No one built this toy. It willed itself into existence”. The barb wasn’t lost on the communist who quietly exited the office.

          In my little research about evolution, the proponents propagate a process that’s causeless. Something came from nothing. Specie A transforms into Specie B after thousands or millions of years. How did they know this? They readily point to science. We have the tools. We study fossils. The fossils tell us what mutated into what and how many years the process lasted. The fossils showed us how monkeys and chimps are man’s first cousin. They also tell us that we – humans, animals and plants are products of a huge explosion that started with nothing. Wow! This is more than tales by moonlight!

            Now I come to the questions. Dear evolutionists, kindly dig into your store of knowledge and provide answers to the following questions posed by Creation Ministries International and me:

i. At what point of the evolution process did man develop a language that is clearly understood and vocalised?
ii. How did DNA code originate?
iii. How could mutations – accidental copying mistakes (DNA letters exchanged, deleted or added, genes duplicated, chromosomes inversions, etc) – create the huge volumes of information in the DNA of living things?
iv. Why is natural selection, a principle recognised by creationists, taught as ‘evolution’, as if it explains the origin of the diversity of life?
v. How did new biochemical pathways, which involve multiple enzymes working together in sequence, originate?
vi. Living things look like they were designed, what prove do you have that they were not?
vii. How did multi-cellular life originate?
viii. How did sex originate?
ix. How did blind chemistry create mind/intelligence, meaning, altruism and morality?
x. Where are the scientific breakthroughs due to evolution?
xi. Why would any plant or animal want to reproduce more of its kind since this would only make more mouths to feed and decrease the chances of survival?
xii. How can mutations (recombining of the genetic code) create any new, improved varieties? (Recombining English letters will never produce Chinese books!).
xiii. When, where, why and how did life come from non-living matter like the particles from the Big Bang?
xiv. Where did the laws of the universe like gravity and inertia come from?
xv. How do living fossils remain unchanged over supposedly hundreds of millions of years, if evolution has changed monkeys into humans in the same time frame?
xvi. At what point in the evolution journey did mankind split into races?

          Let’s also interrogate the differences between the races. I want to know why Asians have yellow skins, squatting eyes and ears. I’m sure you’ll tell me that Africans have dark skins and broad nose because they live in areas between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. Don’t fail to extend the same logic to dark skinned Indians! Aha! I won’t forget the Jews with their unique Hebrew language that has survived many storms.

          How about the olive tone Arab? Why are they different from their Jewish neighbors? Why are Americans distinct from Europeans? Why are Germans poles apart from the French in language and culture despite their close proximity? Though time and space do not permit me to mention other races and their characteristics, I’m sure that I’ve made my point.

          I want to leave you with something to ponder about. There’s a Scripture in the Bible that everyone does well to take heed of. Personally, I believe that it’s the most frightening message in the entire Bible. It’s 2 Galatians 2: 10-12. The King James Version states, “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them STRONG DELUSION, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness”.

          I checked the word delusion in web dictionaries and these are what I got. VeryWellmind.com defines the word as beliefs that conflict with reality. Another web site, Facty.com defines it as a mental disorder characterized by a disconnection from reality.  It goes on to say that a person with the condition usually isn’t aware of his or her behavior. Of course, the dictionaries are describing an ailment that could be caused by natural factors. Imagine the state of a person that Almighty Omnipotent Jehovah sends a strong delusion to! It’s frightening.

         These are the kind of people who call themselves animals even when the Bible clearly says that God made man in His image. These are the people who put so much confidence in their scientific prowess. They are breaking new grounds in science and technology and yet cannot stop the root of war. They are trying to find drugs that will keep them alive for ever and yet they can’t eradicate hatred from the heart of man. They can create more genders and change their children from boys to girls and vice versa but can’t stop them from finding solace in drugs and alcohol, or committing suicide when the pressure becomes unbearable.

          Man’s helplessness is more noticeable when he’s confronted by nature. When he’s faced with roaring waves, quaking earth and turbulent winds he hides under the ubiquitous Mother Nature! Why have your science and technology not been able to stop earthquakes, tsunamis, flash flooding, hurricanes and the like? You who shake your tiny fingers at God, quake in fear when the elements obey the voice of their creator!

          The more God allows you to see the marvels of creation, the more pride colors your thinking and takes you farther into apostasy. I will leave you with a quote from Romans 1:18-31:

The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against allungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth through unrighteousness. For what may be known about God is clear to them since God has shown it to them. The invisible things about Him – His eternal power and deity – have been clearly seen since the creation of the world and are understood by the things that are made, so that they are without excuse.

Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify
Him or give thanks to Him as God, but became futile
in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were
darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools.
They changed the glory of the incorruptible God
into an image made like corruptible man, birds,
four-footed beasts, and creeping things.

Therefore God gave them up to impurity through
the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their own
bodies among themselves. They turned the truth
of God into a lie and worshipped and served the
creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed
forever. Amen.

For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable
passions. Their women exchanged the natural
function for what is against nature. Likewise the
men, leaving the natural function of the woman
burned in their lust toward one another, men with
men doing that which is shameful, and receiving
in themselves the due penalty of their error.

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God,
God gave them over to a debased mind, to do
those things which are not proper. They were
filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality,
wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of
envy, murder, strife, deceit and craftiness. They
are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent,
proud, boastful, inventors of evil things, and
disobedient toward parents, without understanding,
covenant breakers, without natural affection,
calloused and unmerciful.
